The aim of the Ludgrove science department is to transform children’s learning by combining immersive content, innovative technology and engaging teaching methods. Ludgrove has two modern and recently refurbished science laboratories fitted with interactive whiteboards and digital projectors enabling the staff to use educational websites, DVDs and scientific programmes to enhance their lessons. We aim to inspire and enable children to develop and communicate their scientific understanding of the world using their own voice. The labs and preparation area are well equipped and our boys carry out a large amount of practical work to stimulate their interest, reinforce their learning and give them confidence in handling scientific apparatus. Specialist science teachers teach biology, chemistry and physics throughout the school. Boys are prepared for the 13+ Common Entrance syllabus and also for scholarship examinations to a range of senior schools.
