Ludgrove opens its cricket season against Twyford
Links in this sectionThe most unpredictable weather - sunshine, showers, hail, thunder and gale force winds - couldn't dampen the spirits, or smiles, of the Ludgrove cricket teams as they went back to the crease after 23 months absence due to the pandemic.
Luckily, the sun shone as the 1st XI, U11A, U10A and U10B boarded the coaches to Twyford School, and the Home teams - 2nd XI, 4th XI, U11B, U11C, U9A, U9B, and U9C - waited eagerly for the opposition to arrive.
The sights and sounds of the boys' matches filled the grounds in what signified the start of the cricket season for the School. Unfortunately, the weather forced the teams to abandon matches, but a victory was won by all who played, either for the first time for Ludgrove or the first time since the 2019 season.
Let us hope it is the start of a glorious summer of cricket!
