Remembering Mr Morgan
Links in this sectionAn assembly was held for the entire school community.
Tragically our hugely talented Director of Music, Mr Morgan, died earlier this week. We are all deeply saddened as he was such an inspiring force in the music department, encouraging those just beginning a new instrument in the same way as he nurtured the truly talented.
Ahead of half term, we had an assembly for the entire school community to give thanks for his time at Ludgrove. Led by Mr McKinnel we said a prayer or two, listened to some glorious piano playing from one of the boys and then our Captain of School read beautifully a poem, see below, before we left to the music of the Welsh hymn, Guide me O Thou Great Redeemer.
He Is Gone
You can shed tears that he is gone
Or you can smile because he has lived
You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back
Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left
Your heart can be empty because you can't see him
Or you can be full of the love that you shared
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday
You can remember him and only that he is gone
Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on
You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back
Or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
